Etihad Adds More Flights to Seychelles for UAE Mid-Term Vacation

Citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates who plan to travel during the next school holidays now have more options to travel to Seychelles.

Etihad, the UAE’s national carrier, is adding more Indian Ocean vacation hotspot services to meet demand for mid-term travel.

Starting October 7, Etihad will add one additional flight per week between Abu Dhabi and the Seychelles International Airport on Mahe, which will translate to five weekly flights to the tropical island destination from the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

From October 15 to 24, to coincide directly with the UAE’s mid-term holiday, Etihad plans to add seven more flights to the southern Indian Ocean islands.

Located a four-and-a-half-hour flight from the United Arab Emirates, Seychelles is renowned for its pristine beaches, tropical rainforests and marine life.

“The Seychelles is a one-of-a-kind destination, and with vaccinated travelers to the UAE being able to go and return without quarantine, it is the perfect destination for a short getaway or a longer family vacation,” said Martin Drew. , Senior Vice President of Sales and Freight at Etihad.

The airline is also slashing prices for flights to Seychelles with a seven-day flash sale that ends Saturday, October 2. Roundtrip economy class flights start from Dh 1,795 for trips in October or November.

Tourists are welcome in Seychelles

With mild temperatures all year round, the Seychelles are a good choice for a vacation anytime, but October is one of the best months to visit for those who want to dive and snorkel. Indeed, the sea is calm and the visibility is clearest thanks to the reprieve of the south-east and north-west trade winds.

Tourism is open again in Seychelles with the islands welcoming vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers since March. All visitors must present a negative PCR test, carried out within 72 hours of departure, regardless of their vaccination status.

Travelers who have been to Brazil, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea in the past 14 days cannot yet travel to Seychelles.

All vacationers must book to stay in approved accommodation; a list of all these hotels and guesthouses is available here. Tourists must also complete an online pre-travel authorization form before flying to Seychelles. When you arrive, there is no quarantine to consider or any additional restrictions on what you can do.

Etihad requires all passengers on any flight, including return flights to the UAE, to undergo a PCR test before boarding. So you will need to make sure to include testing in your travel plans.

Upon their return to Abu Dhabi, vaccinated passengers do not need to self-quarantine, regardless of their origin. And with Seychelles on Abu Dhabi’s green list, even those not fully vaccinated can travel without quarantine from Mahé.
